What kind of Fisher Cabinet did I buy?

Nope. 250T/TX & 400-T is 4-9/16 x 15-1/2" Faceplate.

I've got a 500-TX out in the shed. I'll check it in the AM.

Here are some candidates:

FM1000 - 16.9 x 4.8 x 12.5 inch (reported on Radiomuseum)

440T - 16-3/4 x 5-1/8 x 12-3/8 inches (Hifiengine)

600T - 16-3/4 x 5-1/8 x 11-7/8 inches (Hifiengine)

700T - 16-3/4 x 5-1/8 x 12-1/2 inches (AK database)

800T - 16-7/8 x 4-13/16 x 14-1/2 inches

My cabinet is: 17 x 5-3/8 (faceplate) x 11-7/8 (depth), so only the 600T is short enough in depth to fit. Getting closer maybe?

The 500-tx is same size as 800-T. Add the 550-T to the 700-T listing as it's the same size. Possibly the 500-T also, but for some reason it looks smaller, than the 550-T/700-T.

Actually with the S.S. units, most of them have the speaker connectioin at the lower edge of the back panel and with a chassis that overhangs a little, it's easier to get to the spkr connections and you don't bend the "Y" spade connectors to get them on. .

Looks like 600T is the one, 440T and 700T would probably work also but hang out the back a hair.

Yep, the 500tx is the same size as the 800t.

500tx - 16-7/8 x 4-13/16 x 14-1/2 (Hifiengine)

500T - 16-3/4 x 5-1/8 x 12-1/2 inches (Owners manual from manualslib.com)

Why would Fisher make the chassis/faceplates different sizes when with a little effort they could have standardized for the sake of a std wood cabinet? Most of these are within 1/2" in most dimensions.

Bells and whistles, bragging rights(I've got a bigger receiver than you..nyah....nyah...nyah), etc.

You DAWG! Now you're cornering the JBL MARKET:confused: too???? JEEZ!:biggrin:

Nice speakers. Almost as big as my KANAZAWA Cabinets with Bozaks in them.
