My McIntosh gear is listed in my signature.

It's time I updated the Emotiva amps and I am seriously contemplating a MC205 to replace them.

    Fun with the MC501s:

Finally received my new Sonus faber Sonetto V floorstanding speakers to use with my McIntosh MAC7200 stereo receiver and McIntosh MT2 turntable.

A very nice setup. Were you able to hear the speakers at some dealer? Your comment makes me think these had to be ordered for you.

Yes, I was able to listen to the Sonetto V speakers before buying.

However, the speakers I had auditioned at my local McIntosh dealer were not in a black finish therefore, the black finish needed to be ordered.

Joining the family this week is a new MC452. Immediately it impressed me more than any component I have ever owned. The 4311s and C52 are metering with right now with Blue Ridge Mountains by Fleet Foxes. :)

C2200 preamp on my main system, MA6200 driving my studio monitors, C26 on loan to my brother, and a 275 sadly awaiting repair...

Very nice indeed! How do you like those pieces? We hear very little of them here.

Just got them a few weeks ago. So far, absolute love! ;-) Smooth, full-bodied, detailed, but not at all bright. I must add, that the (relatively) inexpensive little Monitor Audio speakers make an extremely nice match for the system. This is the most balanced and musical sound I have had in my system. Weird to feel like an "entry level" fella because I've joined the club w the smallest/cheapest integrated in McIntosh's lineup, but I am happy to be here. :) Now, I can finally sit back, enjoy the music, and get off the system treadmill. At least for a while anyway... ;-)

What a sweet sound the McIntosh makes. Totally enjoyable to listen to. While I am still debating purchasing a small sub to compliment the speakers just for older, thin-sounding CDs, overall, I am super happy w this system.

I have decided that I am going to give the Monitor Audio 50's bigger brother, the 100 a go to match w my McIntosh system. Rather than try to implement a subwoofer, I think this will give me enough bass. Since I already like the sound, I think it's reasonable choice. They go down to 44 which should be enough for my small/medium room (den).

    Have the following:
    1) MCT80 Transport
    2) D150 Preamp
    3) MC152 Power Amp

Together, a wonderful sounding setup. The MCT80/D150 combo is among the very best I've heard with digital, especially SACD's. The speakers are T+A Criterion TB-160's. They are a large German floor standing speaker that are very efficient, and are near flat to 20 Hz. The MC152 has more than enough power to drive the speakers to full output.

The current Mac gear sounds outstanding, and strikes me as being more open and alive sounding compared to legacy Mac gear from days gone by.
