What musical instruments do you have in the house?

Custom Telecaster built by John Sprung a terribly long time ago
Jay Turser JT-134 semi-hollow electric
Martin Shennandoah D-2832 acoustic
Cheap undersized classical my Dad bought on a streetcorner in Torino when he was in the Navy in the 50s
7/8 violin stuck in the hall closet
Casio PX-310 digital piano
Clarinet buried somewhere in firstborn's closet
Olds Recording F-trigger trombone in firstborn's room
A Tonette plastic recorder thingie in my keepsakes drawer
Couple of harmonicas in the kids' rooms somewhere I'm sure

Does your Marshall have 6550s or EL-34s? For a long time amps sold in the US used 6550s because they were more readily available. (They used EL-34s in the UK and Europe.)

Sorry for the long wait for a reply, I've been busy! My Marshall uses EL34s and has from new but then I'm in Canada and our Marshalls were all UK spec. We never got the ones with the 6550s here. The poop I got on the use of the 6550s was to increase tube life because people beat the hell out of those amps so the USA distributor used them to keep the warranty claims down.

At one time for many years, the Tidwell household had all sorts of keyboard instruments...as a kid my dad had an assortment of Baldwin, Hammond, WurliTzer, and Rodgers electronic organs. For the last 20 years there was an 1898 Steinway & Sons upright piano, a 1904 Estey 2-manual/pedal church reed organ, an entry-level Yamaha MIDI keyboard from the '90s, and a 19 rank 2-manual/pedal residence pipe organ in the American Classic style my dad built for his house (the entire 2-car garage was redesigned and enclosed for the organ chambers; the pipes spoke through the Swell expression shades in the foyer into the formal living room).

Due to unforseen circumstances and space limitations, they have all been sold and are now in new homes for their new owners to enjoy.:sigh:

All that's left there now is my youngest brother's year old Ibanez SR 305 DX 5-string electric bass guitar (silver with rosewood fretboard in mint condition...it's for sale to anyone who's interested)!

I play all in my studio and do a little recording also. Im new to the recording process but have been playin guitar for a few years. Drums and singing are whats killing me. The kids in the pics are my son on drums and a friend of his on guitar. Its all my equipment. If you look in one of the pics you can see my Sansui 9090db, Polk 10's and a 30 pound Pioneer turntable (PL15 I believe). Click on the Soundclick link to listen to some of the awful stuff I record. :)

Martin GTC-16E Acoustic/Electric (amazing sound)
An early Peavy Patriot Electric Guitar (I've had it 20+ years)
Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop Strat Pro (bad @## guitar)
An el-cheapo practice amp but loud enough to bother the neighbors (don't ask me how I know...)

I'm looking for a good amp to match my guitars. I like the tube gear but also like the Line 6 solid state gear.

And just for good measure...a Flatiron Army/Navy mandolin...

Amps -

Carr Rambler
Carr El Moto (did I mention I like Carr amps?)
Frenzel modified Deluxe Vibrolux Plus
assorted Avatar Speakers cabinets
A couple of Crate PowerBlock amps (too cool for school)
Assorted other solid state amps that get no use...

I also own a couple of Korg N1 keyboards, a Tama Rockstar (made in Japan) 5-piece drum kit with Ziljdian and Sabian cymbals, more mics, preamps and other boxes/gizmos thank I would care to mention, and a 16-track Korg D16XD digital recorder...

Now...if I could only find the time to USE some of this stuff...

Some of you guys have some amazing dream gear. Wow!

I was the bass player and A&R control freak for a band called Livewire, in Corvallis, Oregon back in late 80s/early 90s. We played a lot of gigs and did some recording as well. I had several basses and rigs, but have since pared down to essentials:

1981 G&L 1000 bass - allegedly the one used by the bass player of Quarterflash and seen in the video for "Harden My Heart". Sure looks like the same one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du9iX7Zzgs8
Practice amp is a Backline 112.
Epiphone Casino - 2006 model just got last year. Learning guitar, making a little progress. :)
Vox Valvetronix VT15. Great little amp for $200.
Baldwin(?) Acrosonic spinet piano. Basically furniture, never play it.

I won't go into the gear I used to have and got rid of over the years :( But I used to have a mid-80s Fender Jazz Bass Special (P/J pickups) that I really liked and stupidly sold. If you have a lead on one that someone might want to get rid of, please let me know.

Thanks for the rundown, very interesting. Never got into keys too much, I'd never leave my house. Do you end up being all of the instruments on your recordings, or some combination of "traditional" keyboard roles?
