I sadly had to miss The Coathangers in Indy last week, due to a photo shoot commitment. The next certain show will be August, when a small Canadian rock band called Motion Device comes to The Vogue on a limited tour. With luck, I'll be able to catch local jazz band The Time Flies in between commitments this summer. Too many bands, too little time.

For 2018. Just saw Doobie Bros and Steely Dan on Tuesday. Saw James Taylor before that, Steve Winwood before that.

Tons of outdoor concerts coming, plus Loofest and Labor Day Bluesfest. Elton John is coming too.

    Another good year!

They are not literally in my pocket but Superorganism on August 31st in Vancouver, BC. I may decided to do a last minute show on July 14 in Redmond, WA - Sylvan Esso.

I saw his farewell tour two years ago.

The best farewell tour I ever saw was the Rollling Stones back in 1977.

Farewell I, II, III … :rflmao:

Paul Simon is a musical genius and his band is really tight (as he has stated). That being said … the guy is 76 and it shows (happens to us all) in his performance. He really needs to call it a day IMHO. Was still a great show though, I enjoyed it.

Last week I saw Jackson Browne with a full band including two really good female back up singers. Best show I’ve seen in 30 years. He sounds as good as he did 40 years ago and his band was awesome. Have tickets tonight for Brandi Carlisle, Shovels and Rope, and Secret Sisters.

The last time i saw Paul Simon he sounded really strong.

Donald Fagan on the other hand is losing his vocal strength. Never a great singer but he struggles now.

I saw Steely Dan Tuesday. Sound was A++, musicianship A++, vocals C-, overall still an A rated show.

The local jazz festival is on right now. Have a pass to the whole thing. Russell Malone Quartet last night was amazing! Tonight is DeeDee Bridgewater with the Memphis Soulphony. Herbie Hancock next weekend, and lots inbetween.
