What Was The Best Audio Deal You Ever Made?

KLH model 17 for $30 at Salvation Army (not orignal pair, and kinda rough, but sound great)

Sony TA-2650 for $10 at a flea market (very dirty, missing wood sides, but I was going to use it for parts for my other TA-2650, but found it to be in better condition, so i spent 2 hours cleaning every thing from it, and made 1 good one out of the 2)

I was in a thrift store and asked about tube stereo and a volunteer there gave me a Dyna ST-70,Pas-3 and FM-3 for free.

A Zenith Model 835 cathedral, looking not as good as this, but only needing grillecloth, refinishing, and some electronic restoration, for $20 from the Salvation Army!

WWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

Sheesh, youse guys, good grief.

I did score a pair of Infinity Qb for $40. Got these Utah MP-3000 for $30.

Your scores are why I keep checking 'em out ...

I guess it would have to be the big 'ol G-22000 for 300 bucks cash and a Sansui 5500 that I didn't really like anyway. Or it could have been the 8 R2R decks I got for just over 100 bucks, or the Large Advents for 10 bucks, or the Z-6000 mastering deck for 25 bucks with the wired remote.....Geepers, I guess I can't make up my mind, but I do hope to have an even better score next year, though things have slowed way down this year.
Hmmm, or maybe it was the Dual 1226 for 5 bucks, yep, probably my favorite score when I think about it, or it could be the Pioneer Project 100's for 2 bucks each, heck, who knows which is my favorite, but it is all great fun :D

I got it at a flea market. The wood was scratched, it was missing 2 knobs, and someone had let a candle melt on top of it which spilled wax all inside.

I was able to clean up the receiver and the wood very well, and as for the wax... it all came out in one piece! One big piece of wax, heh. Still looking for the knobs though.

In addition to that, I also found a Panasonic LX-1000 Laserdisc player for $30. If you aren't familiar with laserdiscs they are encoded with analog video and unlike DVD, the quality of the picture is VERY dependant on the player. This is a great player and since I have a lot of Laserdiscs it was a great find for me.

Other things I’ve gotten:
Fisher RS-1050 Receiver $30
Denon PMA-560 Integrated Amp $25
Technics M205 Tape recorder FREE
Marantz 2226b $40
Bose 901 series II FREE

Oh lets see:

Best deal: easy, Marantz 19 receiver for free from co-worker, needed some repair.

then:

Sansui 9090DB $28, Yamaha CA-2010 $18, Kenwood KR-9600 $50

MArantz 2270 in wood case $60, Sansui SR-838 TT $29

Celestion Ditton 44 speakers $50, Dynaco A-25 speakers $18

These were all thirft stores or flea market finds.

Purchaces from e-bay or ads:
Pioneer SX-1980 $450, Kenwood L-07TII tuner $225, Kenwood
basic C2 preamp $26.

Lots of lesser components at simiular prices.

Lefty

Philips CD-880r modified CDP
Merlin 3B+ speakers (simply awesome)
B&K St-140 modified.

$400 for all of it. Sold the amp for close to that alone hehe.

Then the latest deal was the "tube" deal. Local store here got in truck loads of tubes and tested them out and priced them at $5 each. I picked up some that were worth 5-40 times as much as the $5 I paid.

NIB Cunningham cx345 Globe

Without a dought, when I scored a NIB Cunningham cx345 globe (45) off Ebay. I paid like $20 for that and another NIB Cunningham cx332. But what I wanted was the cx345. The guy didn't have a clue what he had as they go for between $350-450 for a pair.
