Mine seems to work fine not that I used it all that much. In fact I got it without rack handles and I bought a pair form a 217 or 317 that are the same size. I still have some of my Sansui stacked out in the garages not in use. I used it to hook up a Guitar and more recently as a tape selector.I've always wanted one of those old Sansui AX-7 Audio Mixers. It would be a nice addition to my Sansui AU-217 integrated. Trouble is, finding an old one could be a nightmare of switch & pot cleaning.
Yeah you might, I said might be able to record stereo and playback using front 2ch and rear 2ch doubling your tape space on the 2340. You can find that out without any selector. Run your preamp tape in and out to the rear inputs of the deck in and out only and record, then play back, do the same with your front and the same area of tape. What you would be checking for is that audio is not bleeding over from the other recording. But anyway it's a 4 track on 1/4 inch tape and I think you can do the same thing as I did with a 8 track on 1/2 inch tape. That is a cool idea.I still have an old Teac A2340, (4-tracks in one direction,) and it never occurred to me to run this into two tape monitors. I may have to play with this. (Along with hunting down an AX-7.)
That is damn sexy, I can't imagine what it cost to top itThis used to be my rack setup

Thanks. With the KEFs I'm just replacing the ferrofluid and refoaming the inner donut.I'm not recapping them. They sound good enough to me.Cosmetically they are in good shape. Some hearing deficiencies have developed that have changed everything audio with me so I'm having to rethink everything.Well that's what the thread is about SD, just the little details we put off because it's not totally mandatory. Like me wanting to change my fabric mats on my turntables and get a lint roller. I get brand new mint records that are perfectly clean and play side one, then flip the record and it looks dusty. I can stop this if I spend a few dollars
