The SX-3900 is gone, and now there is a fully restored SX-1280 in its place in the basement rig. It sounds better to these ears, not that the 3900 was any slouch.

Currently running a Pioneer SA-8500 II, TX-9500 II, and a SG-50 for the spectrum analyzer. Might add a pioneer cassette deck but keeping my options open.

Normally i'm a Sansui guy, but this 1050 is rocking my Ditton 66 series II, and my world.

Love the 650, clean amp, sound stage is nice and clean, and crisp. Congrats! Really great receiver, great Phono stage too!

My wife got a Pioneer Elite receiver VSX-31 at Goodwill and I put it in place of the NAD I had been using, my speakers now sound like crap. She got another VSX-90 Elite receiver and the right channel went out after 3 months. I am not impressed. I will only have her pick this brand up just for resell on Craigslist.

Slightly off-topic, but here's the latest Pioneer gear I have acquired - given to me by AK member @ZoJo:

There are some obvious condition problems, but I've contacted a local sign company to see about getting it repaired. I couldn't find any information about it on the web or even a photo. Have any of you Pioneer fans seen one like it?

The only thing Pioneer in my rig is this one...

    20181031_212252.jpg

Generally, I tend to gravitate towards more overlooked brands like Akai and Optonica, but I couldn't pass up this SX-950 - it's a wonderful machine that seems to make anything sound good, and also has one of the nicest tuners I've come across in a receiver - definitely a keeper!
