What's Sansui in your setup?

I think I really scored..

I am new to the vintage turntable world...kinda. I own a 1971 Seeburg Jukebox that plays 45's, so I have a couple hundred of those, But Never bought or needed any LP's...until now.

My parents are moving, and had their old turntable in the rarely seen storage area of their basement. So I have inherited this set up! -

Sansui FR 3060 turntable
Sansui 3300 Receiver
Sansui SP-1500's
Sansui SP-50s

ALL FOR FREE! I guess this was my shot at the lottery. Dad tells me he bought it off of a Vet that had just returned from 'Nam in the early 70's

A good friend of mine restores and rebuilds Hammond organs, so I used an old Hammond A-100 shell for my turntable (table).

Thanks for all the info...been reading this forum for a couple days now. Cheers

Sansui's are running rampant around here:

Man Cave 2: AU-719 w/ Bang n Olufsen RL140's (Paradigm Studio 20.V2's occasionally)

Bedroom: AU-217 w/ DIY transmission line (a Nelson Pass design) speakers

Son's room: AU-101 w/ RtR HPR-12M's...aka RtR Magnums (finished recap today on the 101 and WHOA!!!...my sons system may get confiscated for man cave 1)

At work: AU-517 w/ DIY 'Overnight Sensations' speakers

Man Cave 1: I was using the AU-517 which now resides at 'The Job'. Do I dare say that the 517 got bested by a Denon (PMA900V) in the Sansui section? The Denon is stock and the 517 has been recapped. We'll see about that! I have a 890DB that needs a recap, waiting patiently in the wings. I'm sure it'll get that Denon out of the line up! I battled the Denon with the little AU-101 earlier today and the 101 gave the Denon a VEEEEEERY good run for its money. And we're talking 15WPC vs 120 WPC! Speakers used, are a DIY pair of 'Manzanita Ultra's".

Sansui:
G-9000 clean & works well. (repaired-not restored,, yet)

CA-2000 *

9090 DB (sold) driving ESS AMT 1As (sold) all bought in 77, all sold in 82.
My love for, and subsequent regret following the loss of that 9090 DB explains my current re-doubled efforts in collecting these old Sansui gems.

Sansui AU 9500 and matching tuner TU 9500. Paired with some ADS L 1090's it's a sweet combination.

In the studio I have a AU 777a and also TU 777, love those green submarine dials. Funny how each amp has their distinct Sansui sound. The 777a drives some KLH Model 5's

Sansui 4000 paired with a mint set of dynaco a25s. I'm surprised by how nice it sounds every time I listen to it.

Working on getting my 9090DB working with my rebuilt Cerwin Vega Dx-5's

Looking forward to a working receiver.

The choice of either an AU-717, AU-919, AU-D11 II, or AU-X701 for amplification, TU-719 tuner, KEF iQ7, or Mordaunt Short MS30's for speakers, Yamaha CDX-750E CDP, and Thorens TD160S + SMEIIIS arm with Santon 881S (needs new stylus).

And I have a 1000X and a TU-505 - fully working, but largely unused.

I have 4 sets which are all amazing:

Sansui 4000
AU-777a with matching TU-999
AU-D11mkII with matching TU-D99X
AU-X901 with matching TU-X701

Speakers: KEF104ab and AR-7s

I just rotated in a new to me 8080 from my stack. With JBL L80t3 Speakers and a Sony CDP-C701ES for the source material.

I think the 8080 was a real sweet spot in the line. Very pleased with the sound and still a relative bargain.

Sitting in reserve:

9090DB
Eight Deluxe (in the shop)
AU-8500

Sansui 210 linked to an old Philips CD player. Nothing special compared with most peoples' outfits but fine for my small living room.

I just got my first Sansui a week or two ago, a 26 WPC G3000 on eBay and it's the best sounding receiver I now have and plenty powerful enough for my small house.
I run it with a pair of Paradigm Phantom speakers and a JVC XL V85 CDP with a Denon DP 30L TT and I'm quite satisfied with it's sound even though my main setup seems less than what many of you others have.

I prefer it's sound over my Pioneer SX 780 or Yamaha CR 400.

an TU-710 and 2 AU-717's. can I run the two 717's together? would it be the same watts per channel or double output if there is a way. I have owned many sansui components in the past that have always hurt to let go of, hope I'm on the keepin side of this deal

My Sansui collection

I was bitten by the Sansui bug back in college but started collecting about 15 years ago.

TU 9900
BA 3000
CA 3000
Seven
Eight
4000
SR 525

And the holy grail of Sansui's: 1963 Sansui 1000 tube receiver

Listening to the BA 3000 through my McIntosh MX 110 preamp hooked to my Icon Parsecs and Infinity Monitor IIa's. The Sansui 1000 is paired with my Dynaco A25's. Good to see others enjoying vintage Sansui.
