When do you got your first V.C.R./V.D.P./V.C.D./D.V.D.?

Telecolor 3007

I love old stuff
In what year did you had your first V.C.R., V.D.P. (Video Disc Player), V.C.D. (Video C.D.), D.V.D.?
I had a V.C.R. when I was young (it belonged to my fother, he bourht it about 1985-86 - he still have it). It was a "Hitachi". At that time it was something to have a V.C.R.. I watched cartoons, in a period when they broadcasted only 5-10 minutes of cartoons in the week-nd on the Romanian tv program! (sometimes I watched tv's on the Bulgarian tv, but when I started kindergarten I couldn't watch the 10 A.M. cartoons and in one period the Bulgarian broadcasted dolls cartoons in the evening-yuk :yuck: I hate 'em).
I got my first V.C.R. in 2003 (in fact, I enherated it-I hade to repair the V.C.R., it wasn't quite free :smoke: ). It's an cca 1986 "Panasonic" NV-630PX, with 2 heads, mono sound, :worried: but it haves tracking and N.T.S.C. 3.58 recoding! :naughty:

hi telecolor, the first VCR we had at home was a remote JVC VCR... had about 12 feet of cable attached to the remote. That would've been 1982-83 roughly.

I got my 1st VCR, a Panasonic Omnivision IV 4-hr VHS machine in late '79. About a couple months later, they came out with the 6-hour machines. This thing was HUGE, top-loader, click-tuners, built like a brick "dog-House"... Seems like I paid nearly $1100 for it, I think you can get a VCR at Wal-mart nowadays for way under $100....I got my 1st DVD player at the local Radio Shack in '88 or '89. I got a CED player sometime alng in there, my 1st DVD player I guess I got about 5 years ago. My 1st TV was a Sony 5-303W, Santa Claus brought it Christmas 1962. My 1st color set was a Sony KV-7000U, my dad got it at Hammacher Schlemmer in New York in summer '69. I remember we had a 1st generation Porta-color, the Sony made it look awful. I remember lusting after Marcia that fall on that Sony....-Sandy G.

My first VCR was a Sharp mono 2-head job that lasted me 11 solid years of daily use. I got it in 1989 for the staggering sum of US$300. Electronics failed before the mechanical stuff did. Silent as a ghost when running, too; all steel and rubber and built like a tank. Since 2000, I've gone through like three VCR's, two Panasonics and now a Sanyo. Sounds like a coffee grinder when it runs. The only DVD player I have is the one built into this PC that I got in February 2004.

VCR: RCA Selectavision top-loader. 1978. Something like $1200.
Laserdisc player: Pioneer Discovision. 1980. Yellow metal case!
CD player: Sony something-or-other. 1987. I held out until there was some actual good music released on CD, other than Windham Hill and poorly mastered classical.
DVD player: 1998. Pioneer 606D with an all-code modification.

I got my first VCR, a Sanyo Beta machine, about 1982 or 1983. Back then, Beta was king, at least in our little town.

I forgot to ask U if still got them? Do U still use them? How much the cost? Anyoane had an Betamax. In fact I got an "Sony" Betamax SL-C7E (someone gave it to me for free-he salve it from the junk :D ) , but it's only working on P.A.L. :thumbsdn: and it needs repairs :worried:
Anyone had a beauty like this?: (the pics are taken from an 1982 "Spiegel"-not "Der Sprigel" catalogue)
