I would also check out Massdrop -- they have a very active audio community which focuses a lot on DAC's, headphones, etc. It's where I got my SMSL M8 and since then they have listed several other excellent, affordable DAC's.

I've had good luck with the SMSL Sankrit 6.

I tried a Topping D30 and got a bad unit (sent it back). That said, other folks really like the D30, and my experience with other Topping products has been positive.

I've never heard the Sankrit or know what DAC chip/controller it uses.

I do know the D30 uses the XMos controller and has an AKM DAC chip. The XMOS controller is really good and the AKM DAC is probably pretty decent.

The D30 supports DSD where as the Sankrit doesn't.

Now I do have an SMSL M8 that I think is fantastic; but it's a bit more out of your $100 budget; unless you order from eBay or Massdrop.

I can't keep this crap straight anymore. Sometimes I curse the day I discovered basic building blocks for USB DACs.
