Who's fallen the furthest?

In the athletic world they refer to it as ‘loosing a step’ as they age, in the creative world we must coine a word for it, but just as everyone else we all will fade in relevancy. One thing for sure their greatness remain at the moment we recall them to be so.

I have to disagree about the Bee Gees. They were Sap City prior to Saturday Night Fever. Then they almost out-Bowied Bowie himself by creating this great late Seventies urban R&B vibe. Compare Bowie's "Golden Years" with the Bee Gees' "Night Fever". No. The bands who bring the term "decline" and "fall" to mind are those classic rock fossils who couldn't write a song that any kid who wasn't stoned out of his gourd in the middle of a corn field would be able to relate to and enjoy.
