Just added the speedball to my BH Crack, makes the HD600 more listenable!

Reverted back to the RCA gray glass power tubes. The Russian ‘cobras’ looked cool but sounded crap with analog. The RCAs sound great no matter the source!

Nice to see minidisc still used these days. I loved the format having had various machines in the past.

This is some happy music. Swing Jazz in Reinhardt & Grapelli style, yet fully unique.

Right now, it's Joe Henderson, "The Blue Note Years," Disc 1.

    image.jpg

On these inexpensive jobs I borrowed from the studio (Sennheiser HD201's):

    image.jpg

They got a decent review over at whathifi.com. I bought about 10 pairs some years back to augment the studio's headphone quotient, and I usually have a pair handy for me. They are a bit bass-shy, but not really too bad, and pretty comfortable too.

I have a set of Sony 7506's for critical listening, as well as another "higher-end" Sony set I forget the model number of. But I'm actually just starting to look for a decent set for home use that is under $100, if anyone has any suggestions. I might duplicate the 7506's, or maybe check something else out. Under $100 is essential, and way under would be a bonus. I am not looking for anything crazy hyped (sound or price) like "Beats by Dre," nor do I think spending anything like $300, $3,000, or $30,000 for headphones is wise or warranted. But I would like decent frequency response, and real comfort (for long listening sessions) is important to me. Closed or semi-closed, over ear or on-ear would be fine, but _not_ open or in-ear/ear-buds. Just a regular set of relatively inexpensive, comfortable/lightweight phones that have decent bass, mids, and highs.

Any suggestions within parameters feel free to lob!

CD ripped to FLAC with Jriver. Played with Jriver using the CD8200 as DAC, and then through the Little Dot Mk V into the Sennheiser HD650s - sounds pretty good

When I first got these AKG K702 headphones, I thought they were lacking in bass, but this fantastic organ music shows how wrong I was. They’re well burned in and now it’s like having new ears.
