Who's your four-legged partner?

This is Boo(because Boots seemed too cliche) who approached me on our front porch a few years ago, and then graced us with a couple of offspring. They will occasionally all gather together for a "listening" session. 2nd picture L - R Mouse, Anya and Boo.

Our 1st rescue dog, Ruby(Eliza) who is a 4 year old, 45 pound, Shepherd mix. All of the cats, over 40 years of adult life, have been rescues of some sort. Beethoven(my avatar) was a puppy gift, to our then 5 year old son, from my sister. My wife has a fondness for German Shepherds, and my son really enjoys a friend's GS. I don't know why I was reluctant to get a larger dog, but here she is.

Don't know if she'll become a listening buddy, but she was enjoying it at the time. Mouse is our resident scaredy-cat, but is the 1st to accept the new member of the family.
