Why 4 Ohm Loads Stress Your Amplifier

I can touch it and it does not burn my hand, but it feels a few degrees below that... I guess I was wondering if I should be concerned about that or if it was normal for this amp.. it is class A/B and from what I've read getting warm is normal. Also, given the expertise of folks on this forum, does the Denton load seem too much for the Rotel A12? Most of my recent amps have been class D, so I am not used to a lot of heat. It is not cutting off or going into protective mode and it sounds great...I do not listen to super loud metal music and I do not listen at extravagant volume levels either. If that isn't enough, I could try to measure the temp.... thanks for any input.
