Why Is This Opening On The SOTA So Unfinished?

Snarky, possible. I understand some have isolation issues. This is where a Sota would come in handy, or any other quality suspended table for that matter. I'm not dissing Sota by no means but there finish work needs improvement IMO.
 
Honestly I doubt the intentions of the design was to give people with substandard floors a table that would track well. Most likely it was to isolate the vibrations coming from your speakers which interact with the cartridge, as that is something all tables need to address for quality playback.

Or since SOTA originally was based in Oakland, CA maybe they wanted a table that could rock through the big one!
