Why would the alternator click off and on every few seconds?

    Good ideas. I might take it in to my trusted mechanic and have him give it the once-over. There are enough symptoms here that there should be at least ONE thing actually wrong that they can fix!

    Check your Freon level too. Low freon will cause a compressor to short cycle.

    slipping belt is my guess .second guess flaky alternator . anyone that knows vehicles well enough will soon sort it. charge light coming on needs to be fixed first .

    Maybe the alternator is just...




    ...alternating.
