Will VLC Player Play 96/24 Music Files AT 96/24 Resolution?

I have been looking on the internet, but can't seem to find a definitive answer. Will the VLC player play my 96/24 music files without down grading the resolution? I have been using foobar, which shows the resolution output as the music plays, but as I am having problems with foobar cutting out at times, I thought of trying VLC. The VLC player doesn't show at what resolution the high def files are being played back at, hence my question. Does anybody have the answer? Thanks.

Yep, VLC will play it at 24/96 without any issues (and if I'm not mistaken, up to 24/192)

You may want to adjust the buffer length in Foobar, which may be affecting the cut outs you speak of. Sometimes lowering will resolve that issue.

Cheers!

Just bear in mind that VLC doesn't support gapless playback, if that's something that's important to you.
