Wood case KA-9100

I get to listen to a 9100 for a few days, and I have to say it's already a very fine piece of gear. The dealer has two of them, one wood one metal case.

I chose the wood case. It has at least one mod, I think. It has banana speaker connectors. It also has no top plate on the amp. Does anyone know if the wood case 9100's had the top plate or not?

The other amp had a part of the heatsink missing on either side, appears to be a cover plate over the output module screws. Made me wonder.

Thanks for any info!

ETA: Damn fine amp.

Those cover plates are usually missing when a 9100 comes with a wood case.

If the top plate is needed it would be mounted on the wood case I'm not sure what the wood case top looks like on the 9100. I know the pioneer incorporates the metal top plate with the wood cover but that is totally different.

My wood case 9100 didn't have the top cover or those blanking plates on the heatsinks.
