This stuff is hard as a rock. There's no getting it off. Now that I look closer, it may be spray foam.
Lord Amighty, it's worse than I thought!

I believe it is Gorilla Glue. That polyurethane glue foams as it cures and turns hard as a rock.Looks like it may be Gorilla Glue that stuff does not let go on porous materials.
That is an ALNICO magnet under that cap. Good stuff. Not much for a magnet on these. They do have some weight to them. Probably okay they'll get new woofers.View attachment 1324088
And you ask us, not him? So it's a double WTF thread.Never explained what happened either. .

Plus it seized the woofer to where it had no excursion. If he tried to play it for any length of time he burned the VC.I believe it is Gorilla Glue. That polyurethane glue foams as it cures and turns hard as a rock.
Water will not touch it.
I think the results kinda speak for themselves. Sometimes the "Why" should remain incomprehensible when nothing can be gained by hearing the rationale.
"Rendered speechless" certainly applies in a case where something has been so thoroughly "Rendered".
That is what we call an "educated guess".Agreed. I don't really care about the "why." In fact my whole "weed and alcohol" explanation was just tongue in cheek though I have been at a few of those parties ...
Depends on the foam. The ones I did, the foam was easily removable except for where it contacted the surround. If it is spray foam, it says right on the can that there is nothing known that will remove it. What a way to ruin a completely fixable driver.
