Yamaha amps

I've been lookig for a new old amp in the 70-100 watt range with mc and mm phono capability.
Does anyone know how Yamaha number their amps? Is there anywhere to to find a list of model numbers with dates and power?
Looking at CA-610; A520; A760; AX-500; A700 - any favourites?

Agreed. Has switchable Class A mode and is reputed to be the only silver faced integrated or receiver that can tolerate 4 ohm speakers. Plus the looks are excellent.

You mean a nice integrated amp, look at:


AX-2000
A-1
A-1060
A-1020
A-1000
The CA-1000 and CA-2010 are also nice but the phono section in the later models are better.

Some of them are a bit more powerfull than you ask for (up to 120W), but they are so much better than there smaller brothers and sisters.

I take it then that CA is earliest. AX look somewhat cleaner and are therefore probably later than the A models. The images at http://www.audio-heritage.jp/YAMAHA/amp/index.html seem to support this.

You could always try an R-9. Great receiver, Class A mode, and cheap.

I know that the A-2010 is great...but don't discount the 1010 or the 810 either at low cost. I love my 810. She's clean as a whistle, laughs at 4 ohm loads and looks physically beautiful. To me, these were Yamaha's finest achievements with integrated amps... although I also loved the A-1.

By the way, I think that little 810 has three phono inputs!
