Yamaha CA-1010 meter needle jump when powered up.

Hi,

I've had the CA-1010 for a while and the needle on the meter would jump when powered up ever since I got it.

I wonder if this is something I should worry about? (and if anything needed to be replaced?) I always keep the pre out off and speaker selection off before both powering on and off. Other than that, my CA-1010 is in perfect shape and sounds phenomenal.

Thanks!

Nothing to fret over.As long as they don't stay pegged ! The CA's 1010 and 2010 both do it.Good thing there is a protect circuit. That would be a nasty thump in the speakers at start up.

Its just the start up DC offset settling down.(stabilizing)

Thanks, avionic! Good to know that it's normal and that there is a protection circuit! Mine does stay dead stable once powered on!

ps. I watched this thread and even set up email notification but never got notified. Weird...
