Yamaha CR-1000 Cracks, Pops, Farts, (what ever you want to call it).

I have seen on a couple of CR-1000s there are through connections on the Loudness/Balance slider board that need to be re-soldered. The Mic slider being dirty can make for some interesting karoke, also check thi mic pre-amp.

BTW, I can't find the thread on the CR-840 where there was talk of installing 100mfd caps, near as I can tell from my service bulletins that was for the R-700 through R-2000 units, not the CR-n40s.

Service bulletins; did you used to work for Yamaha?
 
Apparently there was a period where some 2SD234s were affected by the heat sink grease and would fail, but those are the only ones of which I am aware.
 
There is a Yamaha service buletin that outlines that change for cr-1000,1020,1040 etc. The board is packed and the foils are very fragile. I think they requested all D234s to be replaced.
