Apparently it's not the turntable, it's the receiver. When I turn the balance to either side, I can still hear music a little on one side, distorted. It's not just a tiny bit of leakage, it's fairly loud. Any ideas?
It's the music I'm playing that leaks through, and fairly loudly and somewhat distorted. I know what radio leakage sounds like, and that's pretty quiet usually, but this is loud.
With the balance control centered how does it sound ? Equal undistorted sound from both channels?Any control or switch in the signal path could be suspect.
Work the balance control full range back and forth a couple dozen times and see it there is any change.. If there is any change deox-it ( the balance control ).
