Yamaha CR-1040, Advice and lamps please

Just acquired nice complete example with one channel and several lamps out. Out channel appears to be simple intermittent connection in high-level ckts preceding stereo/mono switch that will be easy to find. Have general knowlege and experience re troubleshooting and switch cleaning, ect.
Appreciate advice, impressions, and experience with this unit or sim that may prove useful along with lamp source/suggestions.
