Yamaha CR-820 & Equalizer?

Been searching for a while. Is there anyway I could hook up an equalizer to a CR-820 without a tape mon button?

Really only want it for my turntable, so would I be able to put it between the table and the receiver?

One sure way is to use an external phono preamp and plug it into the EQ. There are some cheap new ones, or used ones should work well, and connect the EQ to an aux or Tape input (not phono).

Thanks for the reply, I figured I would try to hook the table into the input then connect the output directly to the phono plug and it works great. Possibility there's a pre-amp in the EQ? It's a ADC Sound Shaper.
