Yamaha cr2040 LEDs

I read somewhere that the meter bulbs are needed to drain residual voltage or you get pops. I'm wondering if there would be any issue replacing these with LEDs. Anyone done this?

Yes mine has new green LEDs and it looks nice! I also like the original look as well. My tech did the work-He goes by tarior here on AK location Kelso,WA

Did he replace just the dial lights or the 3 meters as well? Thx!

Your receiver will pop the speakers if the speaker protection circuit is not working correctly(amp, power supply also) and has nothing to do with changing your incandescence with LEDs. All 4 2020s, 1 1020, 1 1040 and 1 2040 that I own have LEDs and don't pop (same with the 2010).
