Bottom line pitching Philly meant more than Yankee $$$, of course the a-hole Yankee fan that supposedly spit on his wife this past season an an influence as well !!

the fact if the matter is, Philly will be paying him more annually than the Yankee offer, but for less years. No doubt about it, now the Phils actually have the best rotation that so many of their fans bragged about having last year, now that they straightened out the blunder of trading Lee away in the first place, just for lots more money. If they can avoid getting bounced by SF again, they'll probably face the Red Sox in the World Series.

Simply stated,Lee went to the team that offered him the most money...it had nothing to do with a fondness for cheesesteak. The Yankees offer was third highest of the three.

only time will tell if that 'out bidiing' really pays off, The Phils still need to play defense and hit the ball, something they were not to good at during this past seasons playoffs !
