you attempt to build an album/ vinyl cleaner using thrift store parts. It's almost finished. Report on whether it works or not soon.

Down in Austin a couple of weeks ago over listening to a great system and when we were listening to vinyl started talking about record cleaners.
Problem: If you put a dirty record on the cleaner, clean the top and then flip it over to clean the other side, you have just put a clean and probably slightly damp side into the dirt that fell off the down side during cleaning.
Solution: use a longer spindle and have a label sized object that you can clamp the LP down on. The playing surface is in air and won't get dirty again.
Until you do that make sure you clean the platter top as you do your albums. Lots of work and it looks great.
