Your experience with Fisher 701?

I picked up one of these today, looks like it will require some cleaning and maybe a bit of refurb, I haven't cracked it open yet (still in its wood case).

Anyone have experience with this particular Fisher?

It looks like it is designed for 4-channel operation, which I understand is a format that never really took off.

OK here are some simple cell phone pics front and back. The wood cabinet is some sort of chipboard, though sturdy.

I have a very similar-looking Fisher 401. While I like the appearance and the sound, these issues have kept it out of use:

1- missing volume slider -- have to use a standard screwdriver to adjust
2- tightly-packed RCA connectors
3- runs HOT! cannot touch the heat sinks -- something is amiss, probably bias/offset

issues 1 and 2 are a disincentive to investigating #3, but I still haven't gotten rid of it.

It looks like #1 is not an issue for you and #2 can be dealt with (I think there's a recent thread about a cable/connector supplier). Hopefully #3 won't be a problem!
