I was working the green rooms. Tigers Jaw were really a-holes. IMO of course. Edit: I looked at their Wiki page. The group is really 2 musicians that hire out others to tour with. I'm sure they'll be making more changes next time around.

We spent 2 days at the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Festival. Among many others, we saw Deer Tick, Dwight Yoakam, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Billy Strings, Love Canon, Colter Wall, Jerry Douglas, American Aquarium, and the Cactus Blossoms.

I saw U2 last week at the superdome, great show.

I saw Trouble in Lombard IL last month. Those guys sounded incredible and rocked the roof off of the little bar they were playing in.

San Francisco String Trio at the Freight and Salvage, Berserkely for a CD release "party". Mads Tolling on Violin, Mimi Fox on guitar and Jeff Denson on bass doing jazzy versions of songs from Sgt. Peppers. I was not thrilled by the idea of it, especially on a work night, but I took one for the team and went anyway. Very glad I did! I know Mads Tolling well, but Mimi Fox on guitar was new to me and really a revelation. They approached the songs from a lot of different angles, and there were times I struggled to recognize them, but all in all a great show.

Foghat, and Blue Oyster Cult. Foghat rocked harder, but BOC was more musical. I'd like to go see King Krimson in late November. Problem is my wife cannot relate to ANY of the music I listen to, so, I would either go solo, or not at all. How times change. Back in the mid 70's to mid 80's, their was always 5-6 of us packed into a car going to a concert somewhere. Sometimes we took 2 cars. :(

September 14, Kansas City Uptown Theater - Keb Mo and Taj Mahal, with Taj's daughter for good measure. Terrific opening act too with Guy Davis. Watching the series of videos from Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festivals got my wife hooked on the blues. Thanks Eric.

Last night: Concert for Charlottesville with DMB, and others. Nine hours on my feet in 90º heat, most of which was in a mash-up 8-feet from the stage right at the center. Oppressively hot, limited access to water, and Justin Timberlake's synth bass accompaniment was working on my empty stomach. Long and short: I was taken out in a wheelchair, checked by the EMTs including an EKG, and taken in an ambulance to the nearby ER where they did a second EKG, chest x-ray, and a dozen other tests before telling me I was dehydrated. I think that may be the most expensive concert T-shirt I ever bought. And this from a survivor of the original Woodstock! :(

Sorry to hear that you got sick in the heat but that was a very good line up. Stay hydrated next time. Very important as I work a lot of 'hot' shows.

I wanted to go to Woodstock but I had to work.

Very difficult when the venue won't allow even unopened water bottles inside, have no access to vendors when the crush of the crowd of probably 10,000 on the floor leaves no access paths. That left me with just the $4 liter bottle I purchased before I went down on the floor. Apparently my two-liters of water consumed prior to and after entering the venue just wasn't enough given the temps, exposure, and the 9-hours of standing. Reminds me of the $1 I paid for a 4-oz Dixie cup of Pepsi from an enterprising local the second day of Woodstock.

    The Magpie Salute

Two hour show and NO opening act. :smoke:

I was at stage right enjoying my night. Magpie is 3 former members of the Black Crows lead by Rich Robinson on guitar/vocals.

End of 7 show run. Back on Friday with a Ninja Sex Party. Who the hell knows of these groups? They are sold out, but only 498 tonight. We had a pool bet on what the clicker count was going to be, I said 420 tonight, lost.
