Your thoughts on 7.1 surround sound headphones?

Some pretty good sample tracks from a article over at head-fi of a binaural recording,
check out track 2 and track 9 samples Here. I think binaural recording does with headphones what separate channels
and drivers do in a room setting, Only better.

Sounds like pure b.s. How can 2 drivers (...) ?

Basically all modern headphone surround emulations (be it for example Dolby Headphone or Creative's CMSS 3D Headphone et cetera) basically use two tricks: Number one is the application of a typical human set of "head related transfer functions" to the signals for the 3D localisation and number two is the application of a typical room impulse response for a more "out of the head"-like presentation. That can work quite nicely...
