Zenith A-636W

Does anyone have any info on this Zenith unit? I can't dig up much info on the web either. A guy that I have bought a few other vintage units from got it in some stuff from an auction. He says the model is A-636W. He is trying to sell it to me for around $15. Worth it? It looks like a neat enough piece to add to my collection but not if its historical junk. Thanks!

Personally for $15 I would buy it. That said I would not expect a whole lot of performance out of that deck, not because of poor build quality, but because of age. If I am not mistaken, that deck predates Dolby and was made when there was only one tape bias, so it would be a rather outdated deck. Zenith tended to stick those same units in their consoles minus the outer cover. If it is American made it would be kinda neat to have since the US did not produce all that many cassette decks apart from the Advent and a couple of Wollensak decks which were essentially the same transport as the Advent.
