Considerable output power difference, but I'd include the Hood repro as an alternative.I didn't say it was better than the +D but you'll get a different sound. Both amps are so cheap you can afford both.

That is it, I know little of the company itself. The amp looks incredibly well made in realityhttps://hifi-exquis.com/pure-power-amps/239-weiliang-breeze-audio-replica-hood-1969-amplifier.html
Is this the amp that you are talking about?
And what is this company? They seem to have a lot of inexpensive gear.

Sonically, this is a solid state alternative to a fully tarted up Magnavox 10 WPC console amp.
There are a lot of affordable amps out there. But if you had to pick one over the other, Volt+D or the Appj?
I don't like apples, but I do like oranges.
If I could only have one it would be the Volt+D. But I have both and enjoy them both for different reasons.
Doesn't a cap upgrade for the Zu's costs as much as an APPJ? If so I know where I'd spend my money.
Go ahead, you have me intrigued. Elaborate.
How exactly did this nice Zu thread turn into another Volt thread? I mean..do we need another one? What next, Topping, Massdrop...
I'd have thought that suitable candidates for appropriate amps to drive these speakers very much in topic.I agree as amplification for the Zu's is way off topic so I'll take my leave.

I'll head it back ....
Ordered on Tuesday.
Unboxed and cranked up on Thursday night.
Not one cosmetic flaw I can find.
Beautiful finish.
Spikes on front and bolts set low in back. Tilt looks good.
"Preloved" ... so no break-in.
Immediate grin! ... these sound really ****'in good.
Vocals, drums are clear and not recessed.
Bass is a pleasant surprise ... sub left unplugged and will not be needed.
Started with some James Taylor. Wife approved. Frank Zappa next on the menu for a full workout.
Sound is concise and has punch .... the way I prefer.
Bass, to repeat ... is stellar.
Sold my ADS L1290's and two fun little kayaks to procure these.
Zero regrets so far.
