Breaking news from New Hampshire... Apparently Brad Delp, from the band Boston, Passed away today at his home in New Hampshire. Reports are still coming in, preliminary reports are saying that the death was accidental, possibly from Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Brad Delp was home alone at the time. Like them or not, Boston was an influential group in it's day, and in a world of corporate rock managed to stand out in the crowd, while still appealing to millions of fans. I had met Brad on two occasions, and he was truly a great guy, very down to earth, nothing like you would think a rock star would be like. Brad, May god bless you and keep you, you will be missed by all who knew you, and by those whose hearts you touched with your music.....

The local classic rock station is playing a bunch of Brad's and Boston's music right now, in tribute. Very little info is known at this point, they are saying that his death was just a couple of hours ago...

I was in Aruba 2 years ago and had a chance to discuss music with a dude from Boston. There are a lot of similarities between bands from Boston and Toronto. We had a great afternoon discussing music... and one thing we could definitely agree on is Brad Delp was the best vocalist... bar none to come out of the 70's arena rock acts...

Brads band, BeatleJuice, Is a well know Beatles tribute band in these parts, known not only for their amazing recreation of just about the entire Beatles catalog, but for their amazing generousity, having played for so many charities and causes that I can't begin to name them. BeatleJuice performed last Friday here in Maynard, MA at the Sit N' Bull pub, a well known spot for local music lovers. The inscription under Brads High school yearbook photo reads "Have you heard the latest Beatles record?"

This is about all that I can find on in a search of the local papers...

ATKINSON, N.H. Brad Delp, the lead singer for the band Boston, was found dead today in his home in Atkinson (New Hampshire). He was 55.

Atkinson police say they responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Lt. William Baldwin says in a statement the death was "untimely" and that there was no indication of foul play.

Baldwin says Delp apparently was alone at the time of his death.

The cause of his death remains under investigation by the Atkinson police and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner's office.

Police said an incident report would not be available until Monday.

RIP Brad,

Those first two Boston records will always be a part of me.

Indeed, particularly the first album...I remember a number of hours with this one on my first stereo.

Damn!
That is truly a shame. I understand he was still in good voice. Way too young at only 55.....

I may be one of Boston's biggest fans! I've seen every concert since 1987, I have memorabilia, autographs, and even a Boston sticker on the back of my truck! My son and I were hoping to see them this summer.... No one else should ever sing "More Than A Feeling"! Boston may be over!

By looking at him you would never guess that was his voice. Man, that was an amazing band in their day. That music was great loud or soft. Another one of our favorites passes on.

I'm going upstairs to my listening room and am going to blast "More Than A Feeling", and think back to how Boston's music has been a part of my life since I was 12 years old!

In college, we used to blast Boston to get physched up for sports. Great Band, and he will be missed.
