Cambridge Audio DVD89/DVD99/540DV2- any experience?

I'd like to add 5.1 to my living room (have it in the bedroom) and was wondering if anyone has had experience with these units?

Are they DVD-A or SACD playable?

One direct question- can one choose to send the signal out as stereo via the DVD89 and DVD99? They have 5.1 outs on the rear.

But the 540DV2 has both 5.1 and 2 channel outs.

Options would be a second HT receiver or processor- a used Outlaw or Cambridge audio seem appealing.

I'd need Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS 5.1, but wouldn't shy away from Dolby Digital EX 6.1 or DTS ES 6.1.

Opinions/help is appreciated.

I have the DVD89 and like it very much. Of the three listed in the title only the 540 doesn't do DVD-A or SACD. My only complaint is the size of the display. It's pretty small and the OSD is lacking. The one thing you want to do if you purchase any of the three is make sure it has the latest firmware loaded. My DVD89 had problems reading many standard CDs until I applied the firmware.

I use the DVD89 in my 2 channel rig, so yes you can use them for stereo only. I'll add another one to the HT if I decide to go with Cambridge Audio for the new receiver as well.
