Linn basik problem

I just picked up a Linn Basik with Akito tonearm and love it. However, when it comes to the end of the side and hits the inner groove, it kicks the needle out about a half inch back onto the last track. It would do this over and over if I let it. I have a Shure M97x on it and tried it the brush up or down and it still happens either way. A buddy told me that the tracking and bias should be different - 2.5 on the tracking and 1.5 on the bias. Right now it is 1.5 on both. I'm 3 hours from anyone that can help me out. Any thoughts???

Recheck your vert.tracking alignment. I suspect it my be off a tad when it gets to the inner goove.

Not sure how a sticky tonearm bearing might act, but if it has a "flat spot" or something causing resistance near the end, it could "pop back" at that point. Best way to test is to "zero out" the weight (remove stylus if possible before doing this), set antiskate to zero, and move the arm all the way inward. Slowly turn the antiskate dial up and watch the arm move from the center to edge of the platter. If the arm "sticks" at any point, the bearings could be failing (based on what I've seen on Akito MK1 arms I've rebuilt, it's often surface corrosion in the bearing, and often the arms are from more humid climates, but I can't say for sure if this is the only determining factor for the problems).
