Thrift-store Kenwood KA-7300 gets undressed...

Getting around to cleaning this baby up and thought others might appreciate the build-quality found inside:

That Concept is a very nicely laid out receiver... looks like it would be pretty user-friendly to work on.

(edit) Oops, forgot I was in the vintage forum! Sorry for the misplaced receiver!

Not vintage exactly . . .

Onkyo TX-SR805

It has a LOT of boards, but comes apart pretty easily.

The amplifier module and chassis is removable from the main chassis for service.

And the rest.

Heat is an issue. There are two silent two speed fans in the boxes next to the transformer that blow onto the heatsinks when current output is high, or when the heatsink temp exceeds 85c!

Wow, those are some good-looking pieces of equipment. Couldn't resist sharing a few of my own. First up is an old Arvin receiver - ok it's not actually stereo, but it says "stereo" on the unit. For $2, I couldn't resist it.

Next are two Sherwoods. The 7100 and 7200. I also have the 7300 (sorry no pics). Man, for how similar these 7x00 Sherwood receivers look from the front, they sure do look different inside!

Marantz SR9000G, with an unusual lay out for the am/fm selector. I thought it had broken off in there. :)

How about a Kyocera R-451

I needed to replace the memory battery in my Kyocera R-451, so I took some picture while I was there. Kyocera seemed to have some nicely put together boxes. Sounds ok too. :music: (from a lurker!)
