It just takes two! The reality is they could be parted out for that much, but then most wouldn't pay that much for a complete pair. I wasn't a fan of them when they were brand new. My boss had a pair when I owned my L112s and I preferred the L112 to the L65s. Like many, he paid up for the speakers and then used a simple receiver (Marantz Superscope) to power them. I loaned him my Crown D150 once to wake them up. That helped a little. Then I sold him my original year-old Amber which made him very happy...until it caught fire.

I restored a pair of Jubals for a guy. Those tweeters are fine.

Starmover those 077 tweeters must be very nice indeed as the 075s in my speakers which is the older rolled off and more beamy version aren't too bad...
