building a bedroom setup around this

I know many hate the look of this futuristic monster but of the hundred+ receivers I have owned it is one of my personal favs.

my question is I want a
CD player
Reel to Reel
Cassette Deck
Speakers
Equalizer

that all match the off the hook styling of this classic receiver.
I am leaning towards an Akai GX-77 for the Reel to reel but would like suggestions on what eighties gear you feel was futuristic that would look cool with this as the center piece

Seems like I've seen some early Sonys that have a similar look. Can't remember if they were silver or black though.

The Philips CD350 seems like a good match:

That Philips ain't near ugly enough to mate with the Kenwood...

Ah, Kenwood's last monster, and the ugly duckling of the line that started with the lovely KR-9400. I'd almost like to have one because it's so horrifyingly ugly.

You're going to have the loudest bedroom in your town with that beast.

An ADC Equalizer that has the red LED's on the sliders. I also think Audiosource had the one with the LED spectrum display that was in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The Akai GX 77 is a good choice for a reel deck, Maybe an Akai cassette tape deck of the same period.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the only one who has to like it is you, that being said, I get a headache just looking at it
Forget the rtr and cassette deck, that just screams 8-track (joking)

this is the third receiver I have owned like this and if you had a clue as to the number of TOTL receivers I have owned and this is what I wanted because of sound quality and the useful functions that lend it self to a bedroom system.
I admit it is not my favorite as far as beauty but it does make my top ten as far as sound and ease of use.
if you have never owned one you might be pleasantly surprised like I was. the sound is very clear and powerful and I would consider it the best value in vintage audio;
and when I had my last one sitting next to my Pioneer SX-1980 guess which one got the most glances......................

First off that thing is awesome ugly!!!! I will keep my eye out for one to try , but it looks like they are going for almost $200 on ebay

I would be worried about the buttons crapping out on the compu-control style receivers.
