Chance to pick up some Heresies

Hello all!

There is a pair of Heresy (I) for sale locally for $375. I have been wondering about Klipsch for a while now and thought this might be a good opportunity to pick some up.

They are somewhat cosmetically challenged with about a one inch corner gouge in the top rear of one of the speakers and could use some sprucing up in general.

Sonically, they would be hooked to either my Mcintosh 2100 or Sansui 9090.

Is this a good deal $?

Are they really more for tubes?

Thanks!

The price seems a little high for the condition. How old are they? I have paid between $100 and $300 depending on condition. I have several pair of heresies and I have driven them with EL34 tubes, Advent 300, Pioneer 727 Receiver, Scott 99 6L6 tubes, Creek SS, and a Nuforce Icon. The difference between SS and tubes is not as big as it is with my cornwalls or lascalas but I do prefer tubes.

I listen to a pair of banged up heresies regularly in my shop with the Nuforce Icon because it is less sensitive to saw dust. Surprisingly good sound with just 15 wpc.

I have some stacked advents as well and I prefer the horns.

I thought the price was a little high too. They are late 70's I think.

I might try to see if the seller will take less.

Thanks for your thoughts!
