super uneducated when it comes to this stuff at this point, but i'm trying to learn. are either of these good deals? they're both from the same person (not me)

i'm in the market for a decent receiver to tide me over for a while after my current unit died wednesday...

i don't necessarily need/want the speakers but if they're an upgrade on the old Sony speakers i currently have then i'd consider it.

any bones/hints you guys can throw my way would be greatly appreciated. if you see a good deal on a receiver feel free to PM me the link. i'm not in a huge rush, but can't go forever without my records!

The price is low enough that it isn't too bad a deal. It won't break the bank.
Personally I like more power. The Marantz 1530 only puts out 30 watts. At least it's real watts though.

Not bad. You might do better, but you'd have to be very patient. If it was a choice between the Marantz and silence, I'd pull the trigger!

Week old ad for and Akai AA-910. I picked up an AA-920 earlier this year. I paid double what this guy is asking, but the AA-920 has A/B/C speaker outputs, the 910 has only A/B. If your interested, make sure the receiver comes with the Pioneer/Akai speaker plugs, or you'll be searching here to find a way to connect!

has anyone here dealt with innovative audio out in surrey before ?http://www.iavscanada.com

I'm curious how you guys feel his pricing is? he seems to sell a lot of stuff but i'm not knowledgeable enough to really know good from bad haha. i bought a cheap unit off him a couple of years ago for $60 and it ended up crapping out after 6 months and he gave me a different model to replace it when i brought it back, which lasted a year and crapped out last week. so i have no issue with the service there. and having everything pre tested and a 30 day warranty is nice too vs clist.

i'm still looking for a receiver to buy, i borrowed a temp from a friend to tide me over while i search, and i'd be willing to spend upwards of $200 for a good unit, maybe more. but i want to make sure i get the best bank for my buck!

Innovative Audio has done well by me. You're paying fair prices there, but you're not going to "score".
I picked up a very nice Akai AA920 this year off Craigslist, much bang for my buck on that transaction ($100). $200 could get something really nice if you can wait long enough for the right deal to come around.
