Since we're showing off our D's, here is my D7000 along with some of my favorite Pioneer gear. If Pioneer only made a CD player equal to the 707ESD I'd have a nice faimily portrait here....

BTW, put some power hungry speakers behind the D5000 (like my Snell b Minors) and you'll know why they made a D7000!

M-25, C-21, DT-570, Sony 707ESD. SX-D7000, SX-1250

Now Retro...we're playing nice with receivers here! Your fleet of SPEC 2's don't count!

I'm curious as to which of the two you perfer sound wise; The SX D7000
vs the Sx1250

They both sound similar, but the edge from a purely sonic perspective would go to the SX-D7000, which seems to have a more upfront and accurate sound stage where the HF isn't veiled and bass heavy like the SX-1250, not that either of these receivers are audiophile accurate. They do nice on FM and the SX-D7000 has an even better tuner than the very good SX-1250 IMHO.

The better question is why bother with receivers when you have a Series 20 separate system

I agree on the tuner section My local jazz station broadcast from the University of Arizona comes in so clear it's frightning Miles Davis was playing the other night and it was if Coltrane was playing right in front of me.

One more shot of my newest SX-D5000. Running with a Pioneer PD-7010 and an old pair of KLH Model 22 speakers.......
