I've been wanting a pair of Heresy, not sure on the price. Probably on the higher side, but isn't the usual rate about $400?

Plus it's local, no shipping and handling.

Thought, ideas?
I've read that these will "Rock the house" :scratch2:

Those are not original stands, but hey it works. THey look nice in the pics, how are the covers? I love these speakers, they deff rock! Just check to make sure the woofer moves without any rubbing on the coil, and the surround is good. Also make sure both horns are working. Pull the back off and check the condition of the crossover, caps etc. Will prob have to put new caps in at least.

IF they are local and easy to pick up, go get em! Its not a bad price if all the above checks out.

Doesn't mention covers, I'll have to email and ask for a pic maybe.
Still debating whether or not I'd want to sink $450+

IF there isnt covers, I would knock off at least $100. I would prob pay $300 for those, if everything else is good.

I traded a very lightly used 80GB PS3 for mine about a year ago. I love the Heresys but that's just to give you an idea on price/value.

That's probably a good estimate. I can't remember what the seller was asking but they'd been on CL for a while and I offered him the PS3 as well as a couple of games and an extra controller. There's currently a pair on Cleveland CL for $300, though maybe in worse condition than the ones you're considering.

What covers are you asking about? The front covers? It looks like the front covers are on in the first photo. I think $400 is about the going rate for a pair in good condition.

The grills, I dont see any in the pics. I didnt click the link though, and I now see them on the cl site. They look ok, dont care for the stands though.:dunno:

Does anyone know more about these?
I know the HWO stands for Heresy Walnut Oil, but does anyone know if these are a certain series by the look?
Or the year?
Thanks.

Have you wanted a pair of Heresys based on listening to some? They're very polarizing speakers.

I sold my HBRs for $300 and I was a happy man to be rid of them.

What do you mean by polarizing?
A friend of mine's uncle had a pair, and I remember them being pretty nice. And I've read a lot of glowing reviews.

Thought they'd be a nice match for a Marantz 2240

I love these speakers, since they are a 3 way they have an awesome full range sound. I'm sure with ur marantz it should be a good match. I currently drive mine with the JVC, and it rocks!

go listen to them and see how you like them. Like John in MA said, you will love em or hate em.

Just for comparison purposes I sold a beautiful pair of these about 8-9 months ago for $450.00. They had the optional risers, original boxes, packing material, user manuals, warranty card and inspection/testing labels. I personally liked them while I had them, either by themselves or accompanying a pair of Cornwall's @ the time.

Those look nice.
I'm going to have to set something up this week, and look at them in-person.

Negotiating prices is just so awkward for me

Now there's another listing for Heresys
$300

"All drivers are working and sound great. 3 way design with 12" woofer, 2" horn loaded midrange and 1" horn loaded tweeter"

Now, that's a pretty reasonable price for those with the risers! They appear to be in decent shape judging from the one picture. I sold a set of unfinished birch Heresy's for that much without the risers. I still have my Heresy II's with the risers which I think are the Walnut version....haven't used them in over a year. Unfortunately, in storage with a lot of other stuff. Sigh...
