Sansui Compulsion

Just play music she likes and she will love you. My wife likes music she can dance to and when it comes from a great vintage system - it adds to the experience!

Just when I think I have finalized my collection of Sui...for listening and looking at...
Another one comes along that tempts me and I lose all reason...
I'm fine with my addiction...its my wallet that feels the pain!...

I think I have sansui acquisition compulsive disorder.

As a recently re-acquainted hifi baby boomer, I have quickly developed a serious liking for 70's - 80's sansui equipment. So much so that I now have (within the last 6 months):

1 AU 417
2 TU 417
1 AU 217II
1 AU 317
1 TU 317 still in original box
2 AU 3900
1 AU 4900
1 TU 717
1 R-7.

This is in addition to an assortment of Luxman, NAD, Akai, Kenwood and Aura.

Played through Celef, JBL and or Sansui speakers.

Getting to be a problem.

You need to get one of the upper G 1000s, no lower than a G-6000. They are so nice and beautiful at night.

On my way out of Nam I stopped at the PX in Japan a AU7700 a TU7700 and 4 JBL L26s. That was a great system.

I feel your pain or love...Since my find of a Sansui 5000A w/4 speakers at a yard sale two months ago for $100.00, I managed to hit the eBay market and bought a 5000 LA, 1000A which was destroyed in shipping, QRX-3500, QRX-7500 and finally the G-8700DB. They looks so good and sound sweet. It brings me back to the barracks in Okinawa 1970. Can't get enough... i won't mention the Marantz stuff.

oh yeah.....testify

I am running an AU-7700 with a ( recently acquired ) TU-7700 myself!!

also a pair of JBL L26's, with a pair of JBL 4313's on top

I love this system...sounds fantastic....plus the fact you can switch between TWO turntables with these amps. as well as 2x Aux, 2x Tape. just awesome :smoke:

So I have the Empire 598 on the left, Empire 698 on the right

Smartphone input = Aux 1
Computer with a bigass hard drive full of music = Aux 2

Teac A3340 = Tape 1
Recording console = tape 2
