I am doing a friend a favor, and switching the side lamps to LED- (blue) - and I've got the resistor/LED/diode setup, wired them in and now it doesn't light up. other than the three automotive style glass fuses, is there something else that I should check? Yes, send the brickbats.

Maybe you can "draw" the circuit that you wired up to replace the bulbs with LEDs. Your original post does not give us much to go on.

So you are semi-rectifying AC lamp power to DC with the diode/s?

With DC, the LEDs are polarity sensitive.

What value resistor are you using? Something like a 470 ohm? Are you using one resistor or one for each LED?

Try it without the diodes. You may see a bit of a flicker when not looking straight on.

EDIT: looks like the lamps are fed with 7vac. What voltage LEDs are you using? Current?

7volt supply, 3volt 20ma LED, use a 220 ohm. For example.

perhaps I have the wrong resistance value

I bought a blue one off of someone on epray- and usually wire up stuff in tubes without much difficulty.

This beastie, however, is something entirely different. I'm using the values that the seller there had.
