Also ordered a Hakko desoldering setup and got a bundle that includes thier FX-888D soldering station and a nice base for both. Seems to have good reviews I've been using my Weller Station for years but a spare can't hurt. Also tired of using the bulbs/wick/manual desoldering pumps. This should make doing 114+ pass thrus less painful. Also have 2 AU-717s and the BA-2000 to finish rebuilding.

Yes the lamps are the green festoon ones. You did well on that.
Now the back panel is a real problem if it's rusted underneath the paint. You could scan the whole panel and have it printed on a clear self adhesive membrane . There shops that can do this.
As for the rebuilding , yes you have lots of work ahead of you.

It's official the CA-3000 sounds like crud compared to my AU-717 as a pre. Several people came by for a listen and were shocked at how much better the AU sounds. Simple fix she needs a rebuild and that's what I got it for. Retired to the lab for now until I get the parts in . Cannot wait to hear it when done!
