:scratch2:Hello, does anyone have some good pics of the exact way the Altec 19 original foam surrounds are I am experimenting right now and have come up with a few. I NEVER use grills on the 19s , so I removed the square pegs that held the mount for the grills, I also removed the grill mounts from the lower cab. I think it looks a ton better, (just an opinion) Any pics would be great....MJ attached is a couple pics..:o

Got it from

I used 2" think foam from minicell foam company, its GREAT stuff. I am not sure how the originals look , but what do you think of the way I cut them, do you think it will pass as "OK"? I have a TON of this foam. I bought it so I could test differant ways to do the horns. It makes a HUGE differance in the ringing and , I call it "taming" the horns... If you need some let me know... PM me... thanks..MJ

Nice job

Fits real nice. I don't know what the originals looks like but yours are sweet. Did you make a template? PM sent

I agree

Other than the color, perfect match. I must leave my grills on due to Grandchildren, small price to pay.

Gotta get metal grills underneath. Fabric is no match for toddlers. My Technics SB-T40's came with metal grilles under the fabric ones so they look bitchin and are safe when undressed. I gotta order some stiffys to put on my RSL's. I'd freak if anything went through one of those bad boys.

These are the "waffle" style.. but there are other patterns available: (Click)--> METAL GRILLS

Here's one of my SB-T40's. The metal grills on these were installed at the factory. I have them set up as rear drivers which is probably overkill for movies but fantastic for music. The route is NAD1020A > SSI 3200 (rear out) > AudioSource EQ-Four > Rotel RX-830 > SB-T40:

(btw, that's not a radiator, its a Honeycomb Disc Driver)
