Just got back from dropping the R-2000 and the very rare STK 7100 (hopefully, Yamaha p/n IG103400) off at the repair shop. Just wanted to make a comment so I'll be able to find the info in the future, if necessary.
A fellow AK'er gave me the email addy of Matt Hubbard (mhubbard@yamaha.ca), Yamaha of Canada's Service Manager, and he very quickly provided the p/n. Yamaha Canada wouldn't sell me the part, but they gave me the phone number for Yamaha USA, and I got the LAST part in stock.
The part was more expensive here than what the Yamaha Canada listed. Go figure.
Why go to all this trouble? The R-2000 was TOTL, and sounds great when working. Besides, it is too handsome to simply be a doorstop. Sure, I've got four stereos set up, I'm not needing another receiver. It is that good, though. A true receiver to rival separates, a reason why so many people would be happy with a receiver.
BTW, I got an overnight reply from Matt, from Canada, and still have not heard back from Yamaha USA's service dept. Thanks, Canada!
