na it doesent seem to be a guitar speaker because of the boxe disgn and they r original so i really dont know???? and what do u mean by coaxial???

There's usually no need for a tweeter if the driver in question is a full range unit.
The coaxials with horns or cone tweeters are by definition, two-ways.

I had a couple of those same Seas drivers many decades back- actually sounded pretty good, even with a bent up whizzer...if ever a whiz there was, cheesy huh, cheesy whiz....

yea they sound realy good even tho i would like to disign a ported enclosur for them just to extend to bass a little more, thats why i wouldnt mind a little info if anybody has any
thanks again

woohoo thanks to frolf i just got all the info i needed they actualy 21tv-2xd full range 8ohm 40hz-18khz rated at 6 watts no wonder they sound bloody good...

hey now that i found a little info about them could somone help me for a ported enclosure disgn with a resonant frequency of 45-50hz any sudgestions would be awsome

Speakers with whizzer cones are often refered to as coaxial.
Speakers with center mounted cone tweeters or horns are also coaxial.

What exactly is a whizzer, or a whizzer cone? I've heard this term used a lot.

I used the term coaxial because I've always known it to refer to a woofer with a tweeter (and sometimes a mid as well) mounted on top of the woofer frame/cone (like coaxial car audio speakers that I saw a lot back in the 70's and '80's - I assume a 3-way 6x9 driver falls into the coaxial category). I'm still not sure what coaxial means when applied to audio cables.

Oh yeah! You've got to love a 11-minute version of "Disco Inferno"!

Whizzer cones are are those cones extending out from the edges of the dustcap. They are meant to reinforce high frequencies, as those will have only the centermost part of the speaker moving without "break-up". The whizzer augments the diffusion area for the highs.

a 3-way 6x9 would typically be called tri-axial. Co-axial drivers are usually onlyl a woofer with a tweeter mounted on the pole piece.

As for cables, by definition, all 2+ wire cables that are running parallel to each other are coaxial, that is, they run on the same axis. But this term is reserved for RG-59 type cables, with two conductors where one surrounds the other all along the run.

To 4player: those look like some quality units. If you haven't already done so, send the picture to Tymphany, they might have an answer for you.

here is some better pics sorry dnt have a camera and yea they sound really good for $20 but would like some help designing a ported enclosure to extend the bass a little more and i have some foster ribbon tweeters to in them as well, it should be a really interesting project thanks for the feed back tho really appreciated. Ported Enclosure

You can't design a ported enclosure for the drivers until you know their Theile -Small parameters. W/O that you're just guessing. Old Colony Sound lab sells several books on speaker building - you should get one.

You might want to try these guys open baffle.... judging just by the size of the magnets, I'm thinking that might work well.

yea ok ill try that but i will need to add a sub or a pair of woofers to extend the bass right??? or could they be anyways of finding out the specs i need???
