Question about a Who "2-fer"

I've heard that The Who on Track Records is king, Decca is acceptable, and MCA is attrocious (I've only ever heard Track and Decca and can't say for myself). Has anyone ever heard the A Quick One (Happy Jack)/The Who Sell Out 2-fer? It has the Track/MCA label (goldish color with Track in blue lettering), not an MCA-rainbow. Should I still stay away from this comp or would it be an acceptable copy? Does this version qualify as MCA (in the negative sense)?

kenindc, are you out there?

I just went downstairs and checked my collection (snowed in).

I don't have this. I have the "My Generation/Magic Bus" deluxe 2-fer on MCA. Ugh.

My guess is you can do better. Here's a link to "Sell Out" options:

I like my 1967 US Decca. I have read that the orange lable 1970 "backtrack" edition is the same, soundwise, as original UK pressings. That would be the "sleeper" I'd try.

I have theis two in one album, I am not sure which label it is on but the few times I have spun it mainly the "Sell Out" side I have not been dissapointed. I will have to check the label.

Thanks Keef! (Spartan too).

There was an opportunity to pick this up for around $10, which isn't much, but why waste $10 if not needed? I feel better that I passed this over for a NM copy of Traffic ~ John Barleycorn Must Die (US pressing, though). It was only $5, but I only had $10 on me at the time. Perhaps some day, when I have real $$$, I'll be able to get those Track Who's afterall.

I have that set, got it in 1980, just played both copies last week and it sounded very, very good. No complaints, very quiet and clear. Better than the earlier MCA Who stuff I have.
